The 2024 Michigan Masters Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at approximately 12:30PM in the Gym – between the Morning and Afternoon sessions. A light lunch will be served at the meeting for those that attend and stay for the annual reports and LMSC business presentations. This is your chance to ask questions and vote on issues involving the Michigan LMSC.
An election for the 2024 MI LMSC Board of Directors will take place at the 2024 MI LMSC Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The Board of Directors is comprised of six members that serve a two-year term. Any individual registered with USMS through the MI-LMSC may be considered for the Board of Directors.
The five Board positions that will be filled at the 2024 MI LMSC Annual Meeting are:Candidates are encouraged to submit a brief resume and statement of intent to run at least 14 days prior to the annual general membership meeting. All submissions should be made to Chad Steed at [email protected].
An election for the 2024 MI LMSC Review Committee will also take place at the 2024 MI LMSC Annual Meeting. The Review Committee is comprised of five members and the term is for two years. Any individual registered with USMS through the MI-LMSC for at least five years may be considered for Review Committee membership. Candidates are encouraged to submit a brief resume and statement of intent to run at least 14 days prior to the annual general membership meeting. All submissions should be made to Chad Steed at [email protected].
Proposed changes to the LMSC Bylaws and Policies and requested agenda items should also be made at least 14 days prior to the annual general membership meeting. These submissions should be made to Chad Steed at [email protected].
A Note From Our Michigan Masters Team Captain – Corrin Buck:Hello everyone! I just wanted to get some information and links out to everyone with the meets we are going to focus on for the upcoming season. As your team captain, I help with organizing the national level meets with Michigan Masters relays, team dinners and team photos. This year we will focus on Canadian Nationals, USMS Short Course Yards Nationals and USMS Long Course nationals. The Canadian Nationals held at the Windsor pool May 24-26, the USMS “spring” nationals at IUPUI June. 20-24 and USMS Long Course Nationals in Mission Viejo. Also close by, is the Pan American masters games in Cleveland July 17-20 but as of right now this meet is not sanctioned by USMS so I think this will not be a MICH team focused meet but still an option to race nearby.

Canadian Nationals – Speedo Canadian Masters Swimming Championships – May 24-26, 2024 – Windsor (Ont.) International Aquatic & Training Centre. Last time they hosted was 10 years ago and Michigan Masters was the High Point team winner. The meet was short course meters and was great competition! Meet information is not available yet but this is the website for the facility. CLICK HERE
USMS “Spring” Nationals at IUPUI June 20-24 held while the Swimming Olympic trials are going on in the wonderful city of Indianapolis, Indiana. Here is the meet information link CLICK HERE and the order of events is now posted!!! You haven’t got a hotel yet? If you are planning on going or even still a question mark??? please make a reservation asap. You can modify and cancel these reservations but if you wait they might not have availability or the cost could go up. CLICK HERE This town will be saturated if you wait with all the trials fans and masters competitors.
USMS Summer Nationals as Mission Viejo -information is not posted yet
Pan Am Games July 17-20. This event also has many other sports as well as a swimming competition. See this link for more information. CLICK HERE This meet is not sanctioned by USMS which means that times would not count towards top 10 or any records. This meet also seems a little pricey but it is long course.
