Summer Long Course Nationals – Michigan Masters takes 7th Place in the Regional Club Division

The 2022 USMS Spring Long Course National Championships took place from Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Swim RVA, in Richmond Virginia. 1065 swimmers entered the meet from 186 Clubs. In the regional team division, Michigan Masters placed 7th combined, 5th in women and 10th in men with 11 total swimmers. Mitzi Amelon scored 10th both in the 800 free and 200 Back. Denise Brown 4th in the 1500 and 200 fly, 6th in the 400 free and 400 IM, 8th 200 Back and 10th 200 IM. Corrin Buck 1st 50, 100 and 200 Breast, 3rd 200 IM and 5th 50 fly. Julie Masters 6th 50 Breast, 7th 100 Breast and 400 IM and 8th 200 breast and fly. Tamara Steil 3rd 50 Breast, 4th 100 Breast, 6th 200 Fly and 200 Breast, 7th 400 IM. Jim Nitkiewicz 10th 400 free. Chad Steed 2nd 50 fly, 3rd 100 fly, 4th 50 free and 5th 100 Breast. Patrick Sturdy 5th place 200 fly, 9th 400 free and 100 fly and 10th 200 IM. Christian Vanderkaay 2nd 800 free and 4th 50 fly. Matt Wuchte 2nd 400 IM, 4th 200 fly and 200 IM and 5th 200 Breast. We also placed top 10 in some of our relays-Mixed 200 Medley relay 7th with Denise Brown, Corrin Buck, Chad Steed and Jim Nitkeiwicz and 5th women’s 200 free relay with Corrin Buck, Julie Masters, Tamara Steil and Denise Brown.
