Milford Wins 5th Large Team State Championship
The 45th Annual Michigan Masters State Championships took place at the Ryder Centers Gerstacker Regional Aquatic Center on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University. Two-hundred and seventy-four swimmers from 21 teams contested the championship from Friday, April 21st until the meet’s conclusion on Sunday, April 23rd, 2017. This was the 3rd State Championship meet held at Saginaw Vally in the 45 year history of the Championship.
The Milford Athletic Club (MAC) won their fifth straight Large Team Combined championship in their eleven-year history. MAC won the Large Team Women’s and Men’s Championships as well. They are the second team in Michigan Masters history to win five consecutive Combined State Championships. The Battle Creek (BCY) won the Small Team Combined, Small Team Women’s and Small Team Men’s Championships.
Twenty-one State LMSC Records (8 women, 13 men) were set during the course of the meet. Additionally, 42 State Championship Meet Records (12 women, 28 men, 2 relays).
