  • Current Age Group: 25-29
  • Team you are a part of: Kalamazoo Masters Swim Club (“ZOOM”)
  • When did you start competitively swimming? Age 4
  • How long have you been in Michigan Masters?  About a year and a half!
  • What is your favorite swim event/race? 500 free or 4 IM
  • So far, what was your favorite Masters Swim Meet? My club’s inaugural Zoom Zoom Meet! Our debut home meet earlier this month brought together more than 90 participants, showcasing incredible enthusiasm and team spirit. It was truly special to see members return to competition after two decades — and to welcome new faces experiencing their first meet ever.
  • What is your favorite set? Any aerobic free or distance IM set. We recently did 3x through 400, 200, 100 on 1:10 base interval. That was fun!
  • What is something you need to improve or constantly working on in the pool? I am constantly working on getting a full catch in my stroke and improving my turns.
  • What are your big swim goal(s)? I hope to continue to stay healthy and competitively swim as long as I can – and maybe break some State Records on the way!
  • Favorite swim Olympian?  Ryan Lochte, Elizabeth Biesel, and Katie Ledecky. So hard to choose just one!
  • What do you like to do outside the pool? I’m passionate about my work as a Speech-Language Pathologist, where I have the privilege of helping adults in the hospital regain their ability to swallow, think, and communicate during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Recently, I also reached a personal milestone — I began coaching for the Kalamazoo College Swim & Dive team! (Technically still not outside the pool!) When I’m not working or coaching, I love spending time with family and getting lost in a good book.
