Born January 9, 1992, in Billings, Montana, is an American Olympic swimmer best known for his achievements in the breaststroke. Despite being born with pectus excavatum, a chest deformity that limited his lung capacity, Miller turned to swimming as a way to strengthen his body and found his lifelong passion. He rose to prominence at Indiana University, where he became a multiple-time Big Ten champion and the school’s first U.S. Olympian swimmer in four decades. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Miller captured a bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke, setting an American record, and won gold in the 4×100-meter medley relay, helping Team USA set an Olympic record alongside Ryan Murphy, Michael Phelps, and Nathan Adrian.
