  • Current Age Group: 30-34
  • Team you are a part of: BKTS
  • When did you start competitively swimming? I joined the middle school swim team in the 7th grade to follow in the soaking wet footsteps of my father and grandfather. Following the conclusion of that season, I immediately enrolled into the club team in my hometown.
  • How long have you been in Michigan Masters? 1.5 years – but I wish I would have started sooner!
  • What is your favorite swim event/race? If you would have asked me this question about 15 years ago, I would have said the 100 butterfly. Now that I have crossed over into my 30s, I might say the 100 free or 100 breaststroke.
  • So far, what was your favorite Masters Swim Meet? I have only competed in two so far, but my favorite was the 2025 State Championships. I had a lot of unexpected good times!
  • What is your favorite set? 75s kick drill swim, IM order. I love being able to work all the strokes.
  • What is something you need to improve or constantly working on in the pool? Endurance! I have always been more of a sprinter, but now that is even more true than ever.
  • What are your big swim goal(s)? I would love to be able to get my name on the Michigan Masters record board! It might be 50 years from now, but it’s still a goal of mine!
  • Favorite swim Olympian? Michael Phelps of course! He was inspiring to watch in the Olympics at the same time I was reaching the peak in my career.
  • What do you like to do outside the pool?  Outside the pool you can catch me mushroom hunting or working in my garden. I also love to play just about any game: cards games, board games, lawn games, you name it!
