DESCRIPTION:2025 Stray Cats Masters Swim Meet – Short Course Yards\nDewitt High School Natatorium\nUSMS Sanction #195-S012 \nSaturday\, December 6\, 2025 \nREGISTRATION CLOSED \nCURRENT ENTRIES\nNO DECK ENTRIES.  ONLINE ONLY. \nSchedule: Warm-up 10:00-10:50. Events 11:00 a.m. Food & Social in cafeteria following the meet. \nFacility: DeWitt High School Natatorium. The eight-lane pool has Paragon side step-up starting blocks\, a Colorado timing system with a full matrix scoreboard\, and seating for 400 spectators. The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1. The primary timing system will be automated with sound device at the start and swimmer touching the pad at the finish with the time recorded on a scoreboard. Official times from this automated timing system will be submitted for USMS Records and USMS Top Ten times for all courses. For Short/Long Course Meters the time will be submitted to FINA.”. \nDirections: Address: 13601 Panther Dr\, Dewitt\, MI 48820. From I-69 on the north side of Lansing\, take Exit #85 (DeWitt Road) south. Turn right onto Clark Road. Travel west on Clark less than a mile until you see the small sign for DeWitt High School. The swimming pool entrance is at the back (North) of the building. \nEvents: \n1. 50 yard butterfly\n2. 200 yard freestyle\n3. 50 yard backstroke\nBreak: Plunge dive for distance/men\n4. 100 yard freestyle\n5. 50 yard breaststroke\nBreak: Plunge dive for distance/women\n6. 50 yard freestyle\nBreak: Goggle-flipping contest\nConsanguineous 100 yard IM Relay (ONLY: 2 relatives\, blood­ related\, and USMS masters swimmers on each team).\n7. 100 yard IM\n8. 500 yard freestyle \nContests: \nPlunge dive for distance. The swimmer performs a standing dive for distance from either the starting block or edge of the pool. Kicking or pulling will be reason for disqualification. \nGoggle-flipping contest. The swimmer may stand in the water (anywhere) or at the starting block end of the pool. The swimmer’s task is to flip her/his goggles in the air so that they land hanging from the backstroke flags. \nAwards: Michigan Masters ribbons for the 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place winners in each event. Special prizes for the overall male and female winners of the plunge dive for distance and for first person to succeed in the goggle-flipping contest. Special Award: Consanguineous Plaque (two relatives\, blood- related\, and Masters swimmers on each team compete In a 100 yd. Relay). This award has been re-established by Dave Berger and Sue Berger-Mann. \nEligibility: Swimmers must have either a 2025 or 2026 registration with United States Masters Swimming. Standard masters swimming age groups: 18-24\, 25-29\, 30-34\, 35-39\, 40-44\, … etc. Swimmer may enter a maximum of 5 swimming events. \nEntries & fees: \nOn-Line Registration: $40.00 \nOnline registration closes Thursday\, 12/4/25\, at 12:00 Noon. \nMail-In Registration: NO MAIL-IN REGISTRATION. \nDeck Entry Registration: NO DECK ENTRIES. \nREFUND POLICY: By registering for this swim meet\, you have purchased a “ticket”.
