The 2019 USMS Spring National Championships took place from April 27 to April 30, 2017 at the Kino Aquatic Center in Mesa, Arizona. 1990 swimmers entered the meet from 260 Clubs. 20 USMS Individual Event and 3 USMS Relay National Records were set during the course of the meet. Michigan Masters placed 8thin the Regional Club division with 482 points with 32 swimmers (Women 16 Men 16) Combined. The Men’s team placed 8th with 277 points and the Women’s team placed 9thwith 171 points.

Ryan Sebastian won 4 events and got 2ndin two others. Ryan won the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, and 400 IM. He was 2ndin the 200 IM and 200 Back. He missed the USMS National Record in the 200 IM by .65 seconds and .66 seconds in the 200 Fly. He set 5 LMSC State Records out of the 6 events he swam. Christian Vanderkaay won 3 events and got 2nd, 3rd, and 4thin his other individual events. He set a State Record in the 50 Breast. Corrin Buck won 1 event, received three 2ndplaces, and got 3rd, 4th, and a 7thin her other events. Zsofia Vegh set State Records in the 50 and 100 Back and Randy Parker set a State Record in the 50 Breast for a total of 9 LMSC State Records by Michigan Masters swimmers in the meet.

30 swimmers out of 32 swimmers earned a medal in an individual event or a relay making this a total team effort. 19 relays were swam scoring 94 points. The following swimmers placed in all their individual events they swam: Mitchell Gartland 5 events, Kelly Trebon 1 event, Chuck Olson 5 events, Randy Parker 3 events, Allan Charlton 3 events, Susan Harris 6 events and of course Ryan Sebastian, Christian Vanderkaay, and Corrin Buck placed in all 6 events they swam.

Ryan Sebastian was the Michigan Masters Men’s High Point winner with 62 points followed by Christian Vanderkaay with 57 points. Corrin Buck was the Michigan Masters Women’s High Point winner with 50 Points. Results, Records, and Places are included in the Exhibits. Congratulations to all 32 swimmers that swam in the meet.
